Sonia Gandhi discharged from hospital | India News

NEW DELHI: Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has been released from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, where she was admitted with post-Covid related issues.
Her discharge was announced by party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh on Twitter Monday evening.
She was admitted to Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and received treatment for lower respiratory tract infection and post-Coid symptoms.
Sonia’s son and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi today appeared before the Enforcement Directorate for the fourth time for questioning in the National Herald case.
Sonia too was summoned by the ED for questioning on June 23, but could not appear due to health issues.
Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are among the promoters and majority shareholders of Young Indian Private Limited. Like her son Rahul, the Congress president too has 38 per cent shareholding.
BJP leader Subramanyan Swamy had accused the Gandhis and others of conspiring to cheat and misappropriate funds, with Young Indian Private Limited paying only Rs 50 lakh to obtain the right to recover Rs 90.25 crore that Associated Journal Limited owed to the Congress.
In February last year, the Delhi High Court issued a notice to the Gandhis for their response to Swamy’s plea, seeking to lead evidence in the matter before the trial court.
The Gandhis had secured separate bails from the court in 2015 after they furnished personal bonds of Rs 50,000 and one surety.
They, however, had contended in the high court that Swamy’s plea was “misconceived and premature”.
The other accused in the case filed by Swamy are close aides of the Gandhis- Suman Dubey and technocrat Sam Pitroda. They have denied any wrongdoing.
