Sonakshi Sinha was first approached for Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Good Luck Jerry’ | Hindi Movie News

Janhvi Kapoor’s look from the recently released posters of her new film ‘Good Luck Jerry’ has already made everyone excited. Whether it’s Janhvi intensely looking into the camera holding a gun or the actress peeping into the camera innocently, the fresh looks of her character in the film created quite a lot of buzz.

While expectations are already high according to latest reports, Janhvi was not the first choice for ‘Good Luck Jerry’. Initially Sonakshi Sinha was approached for this Sidharth Sengupta directorial which is the Hindi remake of Nayanthara’s 2018 Tamil hit ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’. There’s also a strong buzz that Sonakshi even allegedly gave her nod after watching the original but things didn’t work out later.

Not only Sonakshi Sinha but there was confusion regarding the director as well. Nelson Dilipkumar, who directed the original Tamil film, was first roped in for the Hindi version. However, due to the constant delays the director eventually backed out and Sidharth joined the team at the behest of producer Aanand L Rai. And next, the filmmaker brought in Janhvi.

‘Good Luck Jerry’ will be released on an OTT giant on July 29.

The film, set in Punjab has been written by Pankaj Matta. It also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood and Sushant Singh in key roles.

Meanwhile, Janhvi’s lineup of films includes ‘Dostana 2’, ‘Mili’ and ‘Bawaal’. The actress was last seen in the horror-comedy ‘Roohi’, co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma.
